Reversi (also sold as Othello) is a strategy board game where two players place discs on a grid, flipping opponent discs that are sandwiched between their pieces.
Corners are the most valuable positions — once taken, they cannot be flipped. Avoid placing pieces adjacent to empty corners (X-squares). Prioritize mobility over disc count in the mid-game.
Othello starts with 4 pieces in the center in a fixed position. Reversi is the original game with slightly different starting rules. Most modern versions follow Othello rules.
