FAQ
How accurate is the Navy body fat method?

The US Navy circumference method has an error margin of about 3-4% compared to DEXA scans. It is more accurate than BMI alone but less precise than hydrostatic weighing or DEXA.

What is a healthy body fat percentage?

For men: 10-20% is healthy, 6-13% is athletic, under 5% is essential fat only. For women: 18-28% is healthy, 14-20% is athletic, under 13% is essential fat only.

What measurements do I need?

You need your height, waist circumference, and neck circumference. Women also need hip circumference. Measure at the widest/narrowest points as instructed for accuracy.
